Voyage of Verse is created and edited by Ondine Goedhuis, a junior at The Brearley School in New York. Like many young children, Ondine spent many hours enjoying the books of Dr. Seuss. Her love of verse and interest in poetry came to be upon her reading of Horton Hears a Who! and recognizing the significance and power of the line “a person’s a person, no matter how small”. Ondine is currently perusing the transformative poems of Ocean Vuong and Javier Zamora. Ondine enjoys writing for her school newspaper, and recently attended the Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop. Her writing has been recognized by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. In addition to writing, Ondine enjoys running with her cross-country teammates, tackling New York Times crossword puzzles, and delights in a poke bowl with a boba tea.
